Francisco José Clavero Recio

Short biography

Francisco José Clavero Recio was born in Vélez – Málaga, he was raised in Benamocarra, and now, he lives in El Borge (Málaga). In 1995, he completed a Professional Degree in the specialty of Electricity and Electronics, at the School Juan de la Cierva, Vélez – Málaga. Then, he studied engineering studies at the University of Málaga (UMA). In 2002, he joined the Municipal Music Band of Vélez-Málaga as a tuba player. Later, in 2008 he obtained a Professional Degree in Music (LOGSE) in the specialty of Tuba, at the CPM Manuel Carra (Málaga). In the academic year 2014-2015, he graduated with an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Music, under the supervision of Ramón Roldán Samiñán, at the Higher Conservatory of Music of Málaga. Between 2014-2018 he complemented his musical training in the field of orchestral conducting at the Diesis Academy, under the tutelage of José Miguel Rodilla and Juan José Navarro.

Since 1998, he has a full-time dedication to the rental and installation of professional sound equipment as the CEO and head manager of the company “Mercury Sound” for live musical events held by national and international artists, namely: Ecos del Rocío, Andy & Lucas, Kiko & Sara, Rebujitos, La Guardia, Danza Invisible, Rasel, La insostenible Big Band, Sombra y Luz, the ensembles of the Higher Conservatory of Music of Málaga, among many others.

As a composer he has specialized in the repertoire of Symphonic Bands, frequently resorting to the orchestration of piano pieces and reinstrumentation of symphonic orchestral pieces to Concert Wind Bands. His main musical influences are: (1) Spanish Classical Music, with composers such as Isaac Albéniz, Eduardo Ocón, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados, among others; and (2) Popular Andalusian Music, with musical genres such as the Verdiales of the Axarquía as well as the main palos of flamenco.
